My Story
We went up to fish Leech Lake for the first time, part of the family vaction. Dad and I went out on Thursday morning and we both are using #4 Comets, we trolled back and forth in 8 to 11 feet of water. After a couple of minutes dad caught a 21 inch northern pike. 1-2 zip. A few minutes after that I caught the biggest fish I'd ever seen in person. It was my first Musky. We continued fishing with #4 & #5 Comet Minos for the rest of the week. Continued to pull in notherns averaging 20 inches in length for the rest of the week.
P.S. Went back up 3 weeks later on a Thursday. Put the boat in, went out & caught a 21" northern in the first few minutes. Got a HUGE hit right after that, but lost it after about a minute. Soon after got another HUGE hit, reeled in the biggest fish I've ever seen. It was a musky so big we couldn't net it. We both figure it had to around 50 inches or greater. Sadly it ripped the lure out when it was about 3 feet from the boat. Still, the best time I've ever had! All thanks to a #5 Comet. MEPPS RULES!!
P.S.S. Next day went out and got a bigger net.
