My Story
Again, I was on my quest for my greatest catch ever in fresh water fishing in New Mexico, USA. I was pitching plastic worms for bass and experimenting with some of my other go-to-baits. Then I threw my next go-to-bait which was a 1/6 oz. Mepps Aglia Plain with a size 2 hot pink blade, and a plain treble hook. Bam! I thought I had hooked something huge once I had the strike, the fish fought with passion as I did! I pulled it in and to my disbelief it was a nice sized rainbow trout. This area is known for warm water fish however this year it has been known for catching rainbow trout. This area of the Rio Grande was between Elephant Butte Reservoir and Caballo Lake in Truth or Consequences, NM.
