I was out fishing for steelhead on the redds. I was fishing a deep pool when I noticed a fish about 4 foot away from me in the shallow slack water. I could not get a good look at the fish but I thought it was just another steelhead. I took a cast right off the fishes nose and this fish nailed the spinner good. As soon as I hooked the fish I knew it was a Bowfin. This fish put up a good fight and even jumped 2 times. Right when I was a about to bring the fish in I saw another Bowfin right next to him. This is the first time I ever saw of heard of a Bowfin in the creeks around here. I usually catch them up north or at the big river an hour south of here. Was a cool interesting catch thanks to Mepps!
